Thanks for joining me! I am starting my journey with an attempt to understand one of the greatest work of Adi Sankara “Sivananda Lahari”. I am neither a language expert nor have I learnt “Spirituality & Religion”. When I recently started my Sanskrit classes from the alphabets at my young age of 65, the teacher recited a verse from this epic work of Adi Sankara to highlight the beauty of the language. That prompted this novice to undertake this journey. Several inputs from the publicly available materials are my source of strength in this journey.
மறை ஓதா வெறுமை, மொழி அறியா மடமை,
உள்ளறியா சிறுமையுடன் வியந்த இறைமறை தனை,
தந்தை தாய்தனின் எளிமை வாழ்வு உரைத்ததனால்,
வரைந்திட்டேன் பாதையெனும் கீதையென !
சிறுவன் யான் செப்பியுள்ள மழலைதனின் பிழைகள்தன்னை
பாதைதனில் காணும் பள்ளமென ஏற்றிடுவீர் பொறுமையுடன்
பொன். எழிலரசன்
