“Astronomically I am supposed to be your Fall companion between September 22, 9:30 am to December 21, 5:02 am in Pennsylvania. Guys, why have you allowed him so early? Two is ok – you and me; three is crowd. Isn’t it?” says the Autumn on arrival of the first snow shower.
“Who says that Autumn means only colorful leaves of trees that fall ! We are there too providing substance than shine. Unlike leaves, for us partition from our parents is not easy. We don’t run away from from our parents like the leaves do”. – says these creations of Nature.
Golu is the festive display of dolls. It is organised in houses in South India during the autumn festive season of Navarathri /Dusssehra/Dasara.. Typically the dolls are made out of clay. Dolls are arranged in specific sequences on odd number of steps in a staircase style arrangement to depict the process and interplay of the three types of energies (Iccha Shakti – the energy of will or desire, Jnana Shakti – the energy of knowledge, Kriya Shakti – the energy of action) that are continually cycling within us. The steps progressively take us through the stages of our evolution in our spiritual progress as a human being. At the base step, dolls depicting routine mundane activities can be seen. Progressively as we climb the stairs, we can see the dolls conveying our graduation in our consciousness level. The dolls focus on various gods, their actions, themes representing the historical events around the gods and the meaning they convey for leading our lives. The apex level step will have the ultimate integration of our consciousness (Shiva) with the energy (shakti) at the top most (apex) step.

The root of the word ‘Communication’ is from the two Latin words – ‘Communis and communicare’ meaning sharing in common and making something in common.
But “Roots” by themselves can communicate ! Wonder how! Look at these pictures
In an interview done through my iPhone in mid September 2020, the Sun gave an exclusive preview of what is in His mind.
“I have been rising early all summer. I am tired of “Early to rise and late to bed”. It is now “late to rise and early to bed”. Times are changing and so too are the colors. It is time for me to relax. If you guys want, you can change your time as per my schedule” – says the Sun. Justifiably so – isn’t it?
As the Fall (Autumn) season commences on 22 Sep 2020, here is my farewell tribute to the wonderful color – Green. Yes, it is the color that never falls; it never fails too. The photos were taken on my iPhone. Music Courtesy – Mr. Ramana Balachandran on the Veena
What is a window ? I am not talking about either Bill Gates or Microsoft. I am talking about the simple, centuries old, “opening” that allows light, air and sound in buildings.
To quote Jeffrey Kipnis (Architectural Critic) “The architectural effects of a window have nothing to do with your description of the everyday building effect. The reason there are so many different windows is because the architectural effect is totally different than letting light, air, and views through windows. Every architect uses windows totally differently to take advantage of light, air, and views, but windows also frame views, change reflections, and do all sorts of things. They work at the existential and philosophical level, not at the functional level of building.”
Let us now look at the frame views and reflections that different windows provided to me in three residences at three different places in the East of the USA. This is in the form of a video.
The photographs are taken by me on my iPhone and the background music is by my 7 year old grandson who is learning the Piano.

There is a saying that “the grass is always greener on the other side”. Very often we do not appreciate the inner beauty that we hold and look for greener pastures elsewhere.
Living in this wonderful community, I was searching for the greener side within the “woods” during my regular morning and evening walks. I got them in plenty and didn’t loose the opportunity and “snapped” them with my iPhone.
Here is “Serenity in the woods”. Music is by my 7 year old grandson
